AIESEC UBC’s Talent Management and Outgoing Exchange portfolios organized a whole day event called the “Point & Shoot Extravaganza” during the very sunny Sunday July 19, 2009. After meeting up at Denman and Georgia St., teams were randomly assigned and given the “Ultimate Scavenger Hunt List”. Prepared with cameras, each team dispersed across downtown Vancouver taking snapshots and completing tasks.
It was a fiercely competitive event with teams scrounging all over downtown Vancouver in search of Eagles to kiss, Vancouver Trolly buses to run after and landmark tourist attractions to visit. The only rule was that each team must travel only by foot. Cars, buses, bikes, skytrains etc. were all considered cheating! Given 2.5 hours to try and complete everything on the list, each team returned to the Inukshuk Statue in English Bay at precisely 5pm. Points were deducted for tardiness (one team in particular can tell you all about it). It was a tiring but fun day!
Congrats to Team Tina (Tina, Jeff and Jason) for their win! Points for effort go to Team Terrence (Terrence, Karen, Sonya, John and Kaiwan) for their amazing effort. It was a close race and both teams did an awesome job. Unfortunately, Team Terrence got into some “transportation issues” along with some “bathroom stalls” and “lost bags”
A shout out to Jay, our fabulous intern from Taiwan!
